Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chele, has made two changes to the squad that will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in Sunday’s Africa playoffs final for the 2026 World Cup ticket.
Adam Akor and Bright Osayi-Samuel, who started in the 4–1 semi-final win over Gabon, have been dropped to the bench. Akor had scored Nigeria’s opening goal in that match.
Frank Onyeka and Semi Ajayi return to the starting line-up. Ajayi will partner Calvin Bassey in central defence, while Onyeka joins Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi in midfield.
Benjamin Fredrick moves to right-back, with Zaidu Sanusi retaining his place on the left. Stanley Nwabali keeps his spot in goal.
Victor Osimhen leads the attack, supported by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze on the wings.
The match kicks off at 8 p.m. Nigerian time, with the winner securing a place in next year’s intercontinental playoff for the 2026 World Cup.
