A legal practitioner and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in diaspora, Barrister Olufunmilola Mariam Adewale, has declared that the coalition party will right “the many wrongs” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Adewale, who is the Convener of G.O.M.A Empowerment Initiative, said this address during her address in one of the meetings of the ADC across the south western states held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Sunday.
The G.O.M.A Empowerment Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and empowerment to women, children, widows, elderly individuals, and youths in need.
Adewale, who was represented at the meeting by Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Oke at the meeting attended by some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and Accord Party said during the electioneering campaign ahead of 2023 elections, the APC failed to deliver on its numerous promises to Nigerians.

She maintained that the ADC had gone to the drawing board to fashion out strategies and policies that will bring growth and development to the masses, noting that Nigerians were suffering in the hands of the APC-led administration.
Adewale, a senatorial hopeful for Oyo South senatorial district, said apart from the fact that the economy of the country is in shambles, human rights is nothing to write about.
“The APC promised better lives in the area of medical provision, better education, freedom of speech, economic development but here we are, the reverse is the case. The price of medicine is on a high side to the extent that the common man cannot afford, leading to many avoidable deaths.”
“Children of the common man cannot attend good schools, many small and medium scale businesses have closed down, even big industries have also gone under due to epileptic power supply.
“The ADC is out to correct all these anomalies. We are here to bring the dividends of democracy to the doorstep of every individual come 2027 irrespective of tribes, religion or party affiliations,” she said.
Also speaking, the Oyo state chairman of the ADC, Hon Yinka Olona, while lauding G.O.M.A Initiative, he noted that initiative is timely and appropriate at this period that all governments at all levels have abdicated their respective responsibilities, which they are more comfortable playing politics than continuing governance.
“We in ADC have what it takes to salvage the situation on behalf of all Nigerians. ADC is for all Nigerians and we are ready to give Nigerians a new lease of life”.
Other members of the ADC in attendance include Mr Gbemileke Alagbe Eleniyan, Ogbomoso South; Mrs Bolanle Sarunmi-Aliyu, Ibadan North; Mr Akin Alamu Femi (Dexter), ADC candidate for Ibadan North bye-election; Alhaja Fatima Salalu, ADC Oyo state women leader; Hon Johnson Ojasope from Ibadan and others.
