A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Showunmi, has told Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to pull down what needs to be pulled down in order to achieve a modern Lagos city.
He warned that Lagos must not turn a mega slum under Sanwo-Olu as he begins the last lap to complete his second term in office.
Showunmi noted that the Lagos vision started and successively driven by his predecessors from 1999 is now on Sanwo-Olu’s shoulders to sanitise the built-up areas.
He stated this in a felicitation message to Sanwo-Olu who clocks 60 years.

The former Spokesman of the former presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, described Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in office so far as undeniable.
He, however, asked him to take off the gloves and fix the environmental issues in Lagos.
His statement reads “Happy Birthday, Gov Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu not bad for 60.
“The achievements are undeniable as you begin the last lap towards the completion of your 2nd term in office.
“I encourage you to take off the gloves and fix the environmental issues.
“Let the work of Tokunbo Wahab (Commissioner for Environment) be front and centre and top priority.
“We know our history of Lagos and we thank God for the development so far.
“The time is now to force compliance with the master plan in such a way that whoever comes after you will not need to apologise for trying to build a modern city.
“What must be pulled down should be pulled down down what must be provided for the greater good of the people must be provided for the good of the people.
“Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) started the vision, (Babatunde) Fashola deepened the framework, (Akinwunmi) Ambode drove it deeper into places that the poor live in, it is now on your shoulders to sanitise the built-up areas.
“Lagos must not be a mega slum. It is not a no man’s land! It is a land for all persons who wish to live and strive in the biggest economic city-state in Africa. Sparkle like a Diamond. Many happy returns.”
